Erika Juran has 20 + years of experience in Pennsylvania nonprofit management and serves CWS Harrisburg, an NGO that began in 1946, as their Development and Communications Officer. Church World Service (CWS), a global NGO, has expanded from its Lancaster office to a new sub-office serving within a 100-mile radius around Harrisburg. Its vision is to build a world where there is enough for all, where everyone has food, voice and a safe place to call home. Refugee resettlement in 2023 not only focuses on basic human needs but also orientation, integration and learning self-sufficiency. Most importantly, our newest neighbors thrive when they meet their caring community.

We had a wonderful visitor stop by our table at National Night Out. As a result of that visit, we also have a new club member!
Siyu Liu was a member of the Rotary Club of Hershey several years ago but now makes her home in our service area. Welcome to the club, Siyu!
We are on our way! Currently, we have $6,250 pledged towards this year's Flags for Heroes event.
We are asking each club member to bring in the equivalent of five individual flag sponsors in order to make this year's event a success. After all, this is what allows us to support so many wonderful projects in our community, including sending students to RYLA each summer.

The Rotary Clubs of Carlisle and Carlisle Sunrise are hosting the first District 7390 RMB networking for Rotary year 2023-24. It's also the 67th RMB event in the district. That's a lot of networking!
The event will be held at the Frederick House, 219 N Hanover Street, Carlisle, PA on Tuesday, August 29 from 5:30 to 7:30 PM.Hoffman Funeral Home and Crematory will once again be the Major Sponsor for the networking event. The event is FREE and includes hors d'oeuvres, wine, beer, soft drinks and water for all attendees.

Rotary Leadership Institute
Are you wanting to learn more about Rotary? Consider attending the Rotary Leadership Institute (RLI)!
RLI is a leadership development program designed to strengthen Rotary Clubs through education, collaboration, and the exchange of ideas among its future leaders. The institute includes a three-part curriculum facilitated by experienced, trained faculty members engaging participants through open discussion, problem solving and creative role-play.
If you're interested in attending, please speak with a RCWS Board member (Bim, Rod, Erin, or Mark) about registration.
