Flags will be on display throughout September 2025 and remain the property of the Rotary Club of West Shore at the event's conclusion.

Dedication Ceremony
Sponsors, heroes, family, friends, and the public are invited to join us as we dedicate our flags and honor our heroes.
 
The event will be held on Wednesday, September 11 at 7:00 pm at the West Shore Theatre in New Cumberland (317 Bridge Street).
 
Guest speaker: George Scott
George Scott is married to Donna Scott and lives in Dillsburg, PA. They have four adult children and six grandsons. George was born in Fort Leavenworth, Kansas, to Colonel Fred W. Scott and Mrs. Betty M. Scott. He grew up on a farm near Littlestown, PA, after his father retired from the U.S. Army.

George is a graduate of Littlestown High School and Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service. Commissioned as an Army officer, George served twenty years on active duty as a soldier in a variety of posts around the world, including South Korea, Fort Bragg, Fort Campbell, Saudi Arabia, Tunisia, Jordan, and the Presidio of Monterey, filling both command and staff positions as a Military Intelligence Officer and Middle East Foreign Area Officer.

After retiring from the Army, George lived in northern Virginia for five years, working for both the federal government and in the private sector. Responding to God’s call to ministry, he entered the United Lutheran Seminary at Gettysburg and graduated with a Master of Divinity degree. From 2013-2024, he served as pastor at congregations in East Berlin, Liverpool,
and Lemoyne, all in south-central Pennsylvania.

Since 2021, George has taught a variety of courses as an adjunct professor at Messiah University. He also serves on the board of several non-profit organizations, including Families United Network, the Fruitbelt Farmworker Christian Ministry, and the Lower Susquehanna Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America.

George’s passion for service stems from the example of his parents, a rich variety of life experiences, and a deep faith in God’s call to love our neighbor as ourself. His skills include developing leaders, teaching, planning, and organizing people to serve the common good in our communities.
