Dr. Yuefeng Xie is a professor emeritus of environmental engineering in the School of Science, Engineering and Technology at Pennsylvania State Harrisburg. 

 

An International Water Association Fellow and a Fulbright Scholar, Dr. Xie served as a member of the US EPA Science Advisory Board’s Drinking Water Committee across three administrations. He published four books and over 100 journal articles. He received the Penn State Harrisburg award for Excellence in Research, the Penn State Award for Faculty Outreach, and an honorary road, Water Doc Lane, at Penn State University Park. Dr. Xie also received the Excellence in Environmental Engineering and Science Education (E4) Award from the American Academy of Environmental Engineers and Scientists (AAEES) and the Association of Environmental Engineering and Science Professors (AEESP) in 2023 and was the AEESP lecturer at the 2024 American Water Works Association (AWWA) Annual Conference & Exposition.

In honor of Earth Day in April, our Rotary District has created a Team called "Team Rotary" to pick up litter in Harrisburg on April 26th. This annual activity is spearheaded by Tri County Community Action. Team Rotary will pickup litter 8:00-11:00 AM in the Midtown area, checking in at 400 Reily Street in Harrisburg. Participants will get free t-shirts, gloves, and litter bags. All registered participants of Team Rotary will be emailed with more details closer to the event.
