Dee Mathis,
Director, Development American Cancer Society

Dee Mathis has worked for the American Cancer Society for over 20 years in various roles. Currently, she is responsible for multi-million dollar revenue goals and community leadership for the South Central PA area. She accomplishes this with a strategy which includes corporate engagement, major gifts, network fundraising and events such as Making Strides Against Breast Cancer.

The Making Strides movement raises lifesaving funds that support breast cancer patients, survivors, thrivers, and caregivers through every step of the journey. The movement has allowed for enhanced digital offerings available to anyone across the nation, including one-on-one breast cancer patient support services and the use of video chat to safely connect patients, caregivers, and family members with valuable services and resources through our website, as well as a 24/7 helpline.
Many Hands Make Light Work
For those who are able, join us on Saturday, September 3 at 8:30 am for our flags installation. Thanks to Rod Hite, Rick Sample, and some friends, the sockets are in the ground, so installation should go fairly quickly.

Meet at the grassy area along the Camp Hill Bypass, behind the Penn Harris Hotel.

Questions? Contact Rod or Bim.

Also, plan to join us for the dedication ceremony on Monday, September 12 from 11:00 am - Noon at the Penn Harris Hotel. Our program is confirmed and it's sure to be another great one!
RYLA Thanks
Dear Rotary Club of West Shore,

Wow! What an incredible, life-changing week!

Thank you so much for the generous way you are investing in the next generation through your support of Cedar Cliff students going to RYLA. At RYLA, I met over a hundred incredible fellow leaders, learned to take my leadership skills to the next level, and had a blast doing it. At the beginning of the week, I decided to get to know as many people as I could and engage in every possible opportunity. To my great surprise, I was chosen to emcee the Thursday night talent show and was selected by the leaders and students to receive a $500 scholarship at the closing banquet. The organizing team also invited me to return in future years to lead RYLA groups. Overall, it was a turning point in my leadership development. I look forward to carrying with me all that I learned at RYLA through my senior year and into college.

You gave me a gift by sending me to RYLA. Thank you so much.

Warmly,
Blythe Green
Save the Date - Pints for Polio
David recently emailed a tribute to Chuck Cenkner, an amazing man and model Rotarian. Those of us who had the privilege of knowing Chuck are better off because of his influence.

With news of polio cases on the rise, we can honor Chuck's legacy by raising a glass at Rotary's Pints for Polio and continue working to eradicate polio.

The Rotary Clubs of West Shore, Yellow Breeches, Mechanicsburg North, and District 7390 Passport will join together at Snappers Bar & Grill in Mechanicsburg for this event which is tentatively scheduled for October 20. We will confirm when we know for sure.

Can't make that date? Check out the other Pints for Polio opportunities around the District.
